A large, green turquoise stone surrounded by sterling silver makes up the body of this impressive longhair kachina pin/pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration. The stone, containing large portions of light and dark brown matrix and varying medium to dark green in color, is set in a simple sterling silver bezel and surrounded at the base by a sterling rope pattern. The remainder of the body consists of a sterling band surrounding the stone stamped with scallop patterns, cut out with various designs, and appliqued with two rows of small sterling dots. Protruding from the top of the stone is an intricate sterling silver longhair kachina head. The face is appliqued with two sterling dots to represent eyes, while sterling horns protrude from each side of the head and a long hair beard makes up the majority of the bottom half of the face. The head is surrounded by nearly an entire circle of very delicate sterling silver feather patterns. Head is attached to the body with a jump ring, allowing for mobility of the body. Bail is located at the top of the back of the head, with the pin resting horizontally just below it. 3\" long x 1 1/2\" wide.
