A single, blue-green turquoise stone makes up the majority of the body of this traditional maiden pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration. The stone, set in a simple sterling silver bezel, contains portions of brown and white matrix andis surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern, followed by a sterling band stamped and cut out with various designs and appliqued on each side toward the top with a row of five sterling silver dots. Protruding from the top of the body is a sterling silver maiden head, complete with deeply grooved rectangular eyes and a round, appliqued mouth. The forehead is stamped with both horizontal and vertical lines, and a sterling silver horn protrudes from each side of the head, stamped with triangle and fine line patterns. The top of the head is finished with a small tableta cut out with step patterns along the edge, as well as a detailed and delicate sterling silver feather. 2 1/8\" long including bail x 1\" wide.
