This unique authentic Navajo rug depicts two women in a dream-like pose. The weaver was Eugenia Begay from Blue Gap, Arizona. The rug measures 44\" X 37 1/2\". The weave is tight and straight with all edges, corners and tassels intact. The rug was used as a decorative piece, not a rug on the floor in a home with limited light exposure. Both sides of the rug exhibit the same precise workmanship and wonderful colors. The rug features a black outer border with two inner borders of light brown and white on each side and white alone on the top and bottom. A nice medium gray background highlights the two women who are outlined in black seated beside their pipe. The accent colors as well as all other colors are rich and bold. The rug has been in a smoke-free, pet-free home since purchased. It is in excellent condition with no mars, stains, rips, tears or fading.
