If I had a dollar for the all the revivalist oldstyle Calvin Largo necklace sets I\'ve seen misrepresented here and elsewhere on the internet as 50or 60 years old, I no longer would have to sell online.

In this era of revisionism and re defining the meaning ofwords to suit agendas, this venue now defines \"vintage\" as anythingthat \"looks\" old. This is simply not true when it comes to NativeAmerican jewelry! True vintage jewelry is considered anything made prior to1935 not created six months ago in the southwest or in the Pacific Rim to look old.

With this is mind, this graduated partially hand stamped sterling silver bead 18\" long necklace reallydoes look old including the small intentionally created small indentations in some of the beads as you\'d expect on a genuinely old silver necklace. If this necklace were old, however, it would be anyone\'s guess who made it asmost Native American jewelry made before 1990 because wasn\'t hallmarked, and most wasn\'tstamped sterling. But talented Navajo artist Calvin Largo created thisrevivalist necklace with a patina that reproduces the appearance of well taken of, naturally aged sterling silver.

Calvin makes each eagle bead by hand so there\'s a veryslight difference in the diameter (they\'re all about 7/16ths\" in diameter) of the first unstamped eleven beads oneither end of the necklace. From that point on the beads gradually enlarge and are all hand stamped with several sunshine designs in both hemispheres. These stamped beads range in diameter from about½\" in diameterto 5/8ths\" in diameter focal bead in the center.

Laid end to the end the necklace is 18\" long. Conesand clasp are also sterling silver

The matching vintage style sterling silver hook earrings also feature graduated eagle beads with the largest bottom bead being hand stamped. Including the French wires, they are 2\" in long and 5/8ths\" wide.

The beads are hollow ware. If they weren\'t, this necklace wouldcost a many hundreds of dollars...

Calvin Largo\'s engraved initials are on both cones which are stamped sterling.
