Navajo Old Bracelet Elaborate Hand Work No. 8 Mine Turquoise Coin Silver .900:
$810.00

Welcome!

I\'m offering for your consideration a wonderful hand constructed bracelet in arresting design, featuring nine wonderful turquoise stones which seem to be Number 8 Mine Turquoise. and elaborately designed and beautifully executed silver work. The edges, top and bottom are scalloped and smoothed. Picking up that theme are two hand applied horizontal zigzag wires, and extending outward, two horizontal carinated wires applied as spacers and dividers inside a shadowbox structure. The design of this bracelet is unique. There are also hand made and hand hand applied raindrops, two between each of the lovely stones. There is hand stamp work as well and the silver seems to have been hand pounded from ingot and or coins. It\'s a very special and gorgeous piece of work and will always be wonderful.

Very solid, heavy in weight at 78.89 grams yet it has a graceful structure. The width is 1-5/16\" (3.33 cm) throughout. The internal length is 5-7/16\"(13.81cm) + a gap of 1-1/2\"(3.81cm)  for a total of 6-15/16\"(17.62 cm). This piece was made at a time pieces were not signed nor marked for silver content. It seems to be an early piece. The silver is at least coin silver .900, maybe more, maybe sterling at .925. The condition is superb vintage, wearable and collectible. The turquoise sizes, serrated bezel set stones, range from 7/16\"(1.11 cm) at the center from which each side graduates down to 1/4\"(.64 cm) at the terminals.

The Number 8 Turquoise mine in Nevada was first mined in 1929, peaked in 1950\'s and was mined till 1976. It\'s one of the most valuable and beautiful turquoise stones and is quite rare to find these days.

This is a fabulous bracelet and unique to my experience. A timeless beauty; museum quality and a wonderful collector\'s item.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.

I am sorry to say I can no longer recommend ATADA nor buying from their members with perhaps one exception, and retract my previous endorsement of the group.

I request payment by PayPal in three days, but planned in advance of purchase, alternate payment methods and time payments can be arranged.

Everything I sell comes from my personal collection or is something that I would include in my personal collection. Most pieces are museum worthy and gallery suitable, sold to you at great pricing. I vet every item carefully for quality and condition, and offer you the best. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you\'re starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear or gift. My goal is that all my buyers are delighted, that my special pieces find the right homes.
