DESCRIPTION: A most attractive curved oval Sterling Silver belt buckle of good weight (55.8 grams), with a twisted silver wire border and central oval natural turquoisecabochon mounted in a stripsilver bezel. An outer band of turquoise and coral chip inlay work in acontinuous travel symbol - or maybe just a pleasing geometric pattern. Chips are carefully placed and tightly packed. Surrounding the central stone is a stamp andchisel work design of twofeather clusters linked by \'ball and swag\' stamps.

MAKER\'S MARKS: None, however I have seen the identical design marked with Tommy Singer\'s Tc mark.

ATTRIBUTION: This piece isattributed to the Singer family (possibly Tommy) from the early 1960\'s, based on the similarity to marked pieces - particularly with the wire edged oval form. But... you decide!

METAL:Sterling Silver (tested).

DIMENSIONS: 3-1/2” x 2-3/8”. Oval, curved. Accommodates a belt up to 1-5/8\" wide.

WEIGHT: 55.8 grams (1.8 Troy ounces).

ESTIMATED AGE: Early 1960s

CONDITION: Fine, pre-owned condition. Light greypatina to the front, darker and more irregular to the back.

ABOUT MAILING BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND THE US….

Australia Post and the USPSare both very reliable postal services, and they are connected by a 14-hourflight across the Pacific between Sydney and LA, with no intervening countriesto lose or steal things…

My personal experience is ofover 600 mailings, in both directions, without a single lost item! Of course itmust happen sooner or later, but my point is that it is no more likely on thisparticular international route than domestically in either country.

The catch is that it can takea while! My PB is 6 days from California to Adelaide, South Australia; mylongest wait has been something over three weeks. The average is about twoweeks.
