DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful, classic antiqueitem, direct from an old New England estate. It is a nice rectangular shape, with fancy decorative \"flairs\" on the front. Opening is oval as pictured. OVAL GLASS IS THERE, although it doesn\'t show clearly in all of the photos.

Nice dark wood....could be walnut or oak. Has originalglass, as well as the thin original wooden backing board. On the back of the frame IS STENCILED \"PATENTED JULY 22, 1871\". VERY RARE TO HAVE THE DATE ON IT!!!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE STENCILLED AND DATED LIKE THIS !!!

This would look great on a wall with a period pictureof an ancestor or some other suitable period engraving or picture. A GREATLOOKING AND EXCELLENT GIFT ITEM !!!

SIZE/CONDITION: Frame is 11 1/2\" high x 9 1/2\"wide outside x almost 1\" thick. Inside of oval glass opening is about 8 1/2\"x 6 1/8\". Condition is very nice!!
