Recently rehabilitated Athearn O scale 40\' aluminum box express car lettered for Nickel Plate Road. Back in the early 1950\'s Athearn produced express box car kits with aluminum ends, roof, doors and shiny tin sides, one lettered for Rock Island and the other for Great Northern. This model has had the Rock Island lettering removed and was relettered with William Mosteller\'s (\"Great Decals\") Nickel Plate Road lettering. The underframe, floor and details are painted black, the rest of the car is unpainted aluminum and tin. Extra added details include extra steps and handrails for the side doors and air lines, signal lines and steam lines on the ends. Car has correct metal Athearn roller bearing trucks insulated for two rail operation. Kadee #804 couplers installed. O scale model (not for Lionel), 2 rail. No box. See photos.
