He was born September 18, 1932, in Tomsk, USSR, and he died October 19, 2002, in Moscow, Russia. He travelled into space on three missions: Soyuz 10, Soyuz 16 and Soyuz 33. He became the 50 th human to travel into space on Soyuz 10 in 1971.
