What rare and hard to find teddy bears these are!!!
This is a great 1977 vintage dark brown House of Nisbet Jubilee teddy bear that came from our Moms collection. It stands 11 inches tall with jointed arms, legs, and head. It is in great condition with no mohair loss and no fading. The brown eyes, black stitched nose, hand pads and foot pads are all in excellent shape. A plaid ribbon is tied in a bowtie around his neck.I have four of these Jubilee bears in two different colors - brown and a very dark brown. They are unusual as they do not have the Nisbet foot tag but instead have a sewn in cloth tag on their left foot. It is a Limited Edition tag with a hand written serial number (I have #50, 93, 68 & 32). The bears also have a paper tag saying \"The Nisbet Teddy Bear\" that is hand signed by Peggy Nisbet. Both tags say \"Weston-super-Mare, England\" which was the Nisbet factory location before it burned to the ground in 1970.This Jubilee teddy bear from the Childhood Classics series is made of the finest quality materials and to the most exacting of British workmanship! The House of Nisbet was one of the finest British Teddy Bear Manufacturers. They produced a range of traditional golden teddy bears, called the Childhood Classics range, which were designed by Alison Nisbet. The teddy bears were made in Winscombe, Avon, England.You do not see many of these for sale - just try a web or an search! These are some of the earliest House of Nisbet teddy bears. What a wonderful collectible British Bear!!! For an avid teddy bear collector this 1977 vintage bear would be quite a stunning addition to their collection.I will combine shipments for multiple winning offers - please send me an e-mail that you intend to do that.I have many more different teddy bears, so I will be posting a lot more as I get them photographed and written up.
