This is an absolutely gorgeous, elegant hand fabric handbag with a fancy detailed Sterling Silver frame depicting cupids.

PLEASE STUDY THE PHOTOS FOR DETAIL.....LOOK AT THE ELEGANCE OF THE FRAME.

A finely ribbed black fabric in excellent condition with a beige silk lining, which is in totally unblemished condition.. The tag inside says \"French Bag Shop, New York\". It has been stored for about 5 decades in a cedar chest.

The sterling frame is a very thick and heavy weight. Total weight of purse is about 260 grams, by far most being the frame. The bag is 10 inches wide at its widest point.

The purse is opened with a push button latch. It is marked with \'Mc\' in a triangle and \'A\' in a diamond {Does anyone recognize the maker\'s mark?}. There is a very good photo of the mark and also a hand-drawn depiction.

Look closely at the pictures and admire the detail of the Sterling frame......a cupid at each end section and two cupids joining in the center on each side.

The handle has slight edge wear where the contact would be while carrying.......ONLY on the edge.

In its day, this was a VERY HIGH END purse and had been received as a wedding gift.
