I\'ve been collecting sport memorabilia for more than 30 years and this is the only helmet like this I\'ve ever seen. It\'s been a part of my sports memorabilia collection for about 25 years. I am now editing my collection due to age. This helmet was made by Nokona Sporting Goods between 1953 and 1960. When released in 1953 it was a new style vulcanized molded fiber type helmet. This style was manufactured until 1960 when Nokona came out with a suspension style poly-carbon shell helmet. Nokona is better known for their baseball gloves but in the 1950s and 1960s they made other sports gear and equipment. They have been making products since 1934 in Nocona Texas and is the only company that still makes all their baseball gloves in the USA.
This helmet is in very good condition however it does not have a chin strap. It measure approximately 8\" Wide X 9\" Deep (Front to Back) X 9 1/4\" Tall. The helmet will ship with images from the original Nokona catalog. This will make a great addition to any sports collection. It is unique and rare.
