Up for offer is a 1916 wooden wall telephone by Northern Electric Company of Montreal. I am not sure exactly where they manufactured these phones in Canada as Northern Electric had quite a few factories. Nevertheless, I hooked it up this morning and was able to get a dial tone and had some sidetone showing me that the transmitter was working as well. The original bells ring when I turned the crank on the 48A magneto (Generator). The cabinet is made of quarter sawed red oak and looks pretty darn good after almost 99 years! The brass gongs on the ringer are original as they came with the phone.. As stated the original receiver still works, however the receiver shell, which was badly cracked was replaced about 17 years ago. The date of manufacture is shown in the lower right corner of the wiring diagram.Since this phone is really heavy at 33 pounds shipping charges will reflect that, my guess would be around $47.00 give or take a few bucks. The generator itself weighs in at around 15 pounds.This old telephone will be well packed (double carton) shipped with insurance + tracking.
