Fully hand carved and hand painted, HIGHEST QUALITY MASTERPIECE, decorated with cedar bark
Measurements: This Mask is 48\" total in diameter!!! The back panel of the Sun\'s face is 18\" x 17\", the face itself is 10\" x 9\", decorated with cedar bark, a beautiful example of Indigenous Art!
Carved by the Salteaux/Cree First Nations Artist Emil Thibert.
Emil Thibert is a renowned Northwest Coast Metis artist of Saulteax/Cree/French heritage who grew up inAlbertaand now resides inCalgary,Alberta,Canada. He studied the Kwakiutl style carving from Carl Simeon ofCampbell RiverinBritish Columbia, over 18 years ago. As a single father he raised his three children supporting himself as an artist. Emil places heavy emphasis on the study of old pieces in all styles of the authentic Northwest coast carving. He carves a variety of styles in masks, wall plaques paddles, rattles, and totem poles, and considers his carvings to be a way of ensuring that those traditions are preserved for future generations. His works are now very sought after and collected worldwide. He can be found in only the finest native art galleries inNorth America.
