Here for your consideration is truly fabulous, elegant andrare, mid 20th century, hallmarked sterling 925 silver, vermeil finished, multi-coloured, Norwegian, guilloche enamelled, butterfly brooch, by world renowned Norwegian silversmith David Anderson, complete with black velvet presentation/display box.

A stunning piece of vintage workmanship, fully hallmarked with a silver gilt vermeil back. Thissuperb silver gilt, multi-coloured guilloche enamelled brooch is stamped on the back David-Anderson, Norway sterling 925, with David Anderson\'s mid 20th century silver hallmark.

Considering this enamelled thimble is 66 yearsold it\'s in fantasticcondition, with no chips, splits, dents, or damage and the enamelling is in superb condition, commensuratewith its 66 years of age.

David Anderson 1843-1901…

The company was founded in Christiania (now Olso) Norway by David Anderson in 1876. David Anderson was a gold/silversmith who\'s high standards of workmanship brought him early success. David Anderson died in 1901 and his son Arthur took over the firm. Arthur Anderson instituted some important changes, he decided to hyphenate the family name to David-Anderson and as chief designer, introduced enamelling on the company\'s gold and silver jewellery. An instant success enamelling has become synonymous with the David Anderson name.

A family run business now run by members of the fourth generation, Uni and John David-Anderson. Throughout its long history David-Anderson has always kept pace with changing times and artistic trends, over time they have created beautiful and finely crafted jewellery, objects in the styles of Naturalism, Dragestil (dragon-style) Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Art Moderne and Modernism.
