Cold painted bronze figure of a finch? Marked \'Geschutzt\' circa 1900 (I have a fantastic little collection of unusual bronzes for offer on

in the UK or to any international buyers for the same price as one)This sale is for the bronze figure of a bird, possibly a finch? mounted on a base as shown
in the photographs. It measures 60 mm tall and weighs 232 grammes and is very finely and beautifully
modelled and it is in overall good condition with some paint loss commensurate with its age.
It is marked \'Geschutzt\' on the underside of the tail and has all the quality of an Austrian \'Bergmann\'
bronze from the turn of the 20th Century. There is one small break on the left leg as you can see
in the last of the photos but the pin that attaches the bird to the base and runs through the leg is
intact so it is still connected and this hardly detracts at all from the overall condition.
It displays beautifully and would make a fine addition to any collection of early bronzes.Please view the photos, which can be enlarged, to assess the condition
