A very interesting old German Stainer violin around mid 1800 with authentic repair label from Balthasar Klotz dated 1927.

Nicely carved scroll, which has been masterly grafted to the neck and accurately inlaid purfling. This top violin shows no open cracks or open seams. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back, as well as ribs and neck, is nicely flamed maple. Pegs, fingerboard, tailpiece and chinrest are ebony. The instrument has been completely restored by our luthier and checked by our violin player on playability. It received a soundpost patch on the front, bushings on all pegholes, new ebony pegs, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings.These are new silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full tonal character of this violin!Very good old German quality violin in immediate playing condition! Great mature tone - Please see the video & listen to the sound on youtube! Measures aprox.: total 59 cm / 23.2\", body 35,6 cm / 14\", vibrating chord length 32 cm / 12.6\", weight 486 gr / ~17.1 oz.
