Wonderful and quite rare, 1932 Typed Letter Signed by future President Franklin Delano Roosevelt as the Governor of New York. This original, hand signed Letter measures approx. 8” by 10 1/2” and is written on Roosevelt\'s New York Executive Chamber Stationary. The letter is dated March 18, 1932 and addresses to a “Mr. E. Maltby Shipp, Chairman / Newburgh Bicentennial Commission\".

It is written entirely on one side of a beautiful sheet of stationary with an embossed, gold gilt coat of arms of the State of New York at the top and printed heading that reads \"State of New York / Executive Chamber / Albany\". The text of the Letter reads: \"My dear Mr. Shipp: / Thank you for your letter of March 16th. / I hope much I can come to the Newburgh celebration. I am putting the date down and will make every effort to come but it is a little early for me to give you a definite answer at this time. / Very sincerely yours, / (signed)Franklin D Roosevelt\".

This original, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Typed Letter Signed is in very good condition - clean and crisp and very well preserved with two horizontal folds as sent through the mail. The Sheet is very lightly and uniformly age toned but overall it is well preserved and the signature of FDR is exceptionally attractive.
