ORIGINAL 19TH CENTURY BRITISH PATTERN 1827 NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD~MANTON & CO. :
$895.00

Original and nice 19th century British Pattern 1827 Naval Officer\'s Lions Head Sword and Scabbard. This sword would have belonged to a Warrant Officer as it has the black fishskin handle instead of the white as carried by commissioned officers. This sword was manufactured by Manton & Co. and so marked by the company\'s trademark on the ricasso, also proved on the reverse by a 5 pointed star with initials in the gold center. Both the handle and guard remain in excellent condition, guard is not dented, remains tight to the blade, and handle has all of its original fishskin wrapping and twisted wire intact and original to the sword. The folding guard lock is all intact and functions flawlessly. Blade measures its full 31 1/2 inches of length, and is mostly all factory bright in color. The blade remains in excellent condition. The scabbard is original to the sword, is all intact, although without the sword inserted is fragile in condition. The scabbard has patches of its leather finish missing and kinked in two spots towards the drag (pictured in last photo in ad). Without the sword inserted these two kinked spots on the scabbard can easily break. Overall a nice British P1827 Naval Officers Sword and Scabbard which remain in attic un-touched condition. Absolutely 100% lifetime guaranteed to be original. Buyer pays $15 USPS Priority Shipping, overseas will be more.
