Incredibly ornate, antique brass & ormolu bronze full size bed!French Art Nouveau in designand from same period (late 1800s to very early 1900s). Gorgeous curved lines withEXQUISITE ormolu bronze fretwork. The fretwork has unusual patterned flowers and vines with a large, figural medallion gracing both the headboardand footboard. The medallions featurea trio of winged cherubs (or Cupids)surrounding a large pedestal and urn. The medallions areachieved in raised relief or repousse. The bed features large ball feet on the headboard and winged acanthus feet on the footboard. The bed retains the original, iron frame which is a four piece unit. The bed is not marked but is of superb craftsmanship and was finely constructed. It is in good, ORIGINAL, ANTIQUE condition with some cosmetic evidence of age. The brass does have oxidization spotswhichcould be polished. The iron frame does have some minor, surface rust. The frameassembles byattaching two pieces directly onto the headboard and footboard and then the side rails slide over those pieces.The bed retains the original, large flat screws. There are brass back plates that go in between the frame and the headboard/footboard. One of the plates is missing which does not affect the integrity of the bed and could be replaced with another plate if desired. This is a beautiful andunusual, antique bed. IT IS HEAVY.

The bedmeasures as follows: The headboard is 39.5\" tall, 54\"wide and the brass tubing is 1.5\" thick. Thefootboard is 27\" tall, 57\" wide and 1.5\" thick. The frame is 53\" wide and 77\" long. The framesits 10\" above the floor.The bed is 79\" long when assembled.
