Offering a unique original oil on canvas paintingdepicting a Cubist still life with fruit, bowls and glass, signed Picasso, in the lower margin of the artwork. Stilllifes were a favourite motif for Cubists. They used them to create pictorialcompositions that were not really concerned with an outer reality, but ratherwith the picture plane as a reality in itself. At first glance, Picasso\'s Still-Life might seem amish-mash of Cubist forms instead of clear picture. But we can understand theimage—and others like it—by breaking down Cubist pictorial language into parts.Put simply, Picasso wants us to remember that the painting is somethingdifferent from that which it represents. Or as Gertrude Stein said, “A rose isa rose is a rose.”

The artwork comes with a registration certificate atNational Fine Arts Title Registry, with a transfer of registry certificate tothe new owner, transfer of ownership and a COA which came with the artwork whenacquired.
