Hello and thanks for looking, up for sale is the Official 1973 United States Presidential Inaugural Sterling Silver Plate depicting the bust of Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew. This limited edition plate was produced by the Franklin Mint and is the first official Presidential Inaugural Plate in US history. The double portraits of President Richard Nixon and Vice President Spiro Agnew appear in relief and were sculptured by renowned American Medallic Sculptor, Gilroy Roberts. The condition of this plate is very good although the back of the plate has a few minor scuffs but we don\'t want to polish this piece of history. It was a very short time later when both of these men were forced from office, which makes this plate even more collectible

This .925 fine silver bullion (sterling) plate is 8\" in diameter and stands about 3/4\" high and weighs just under 12 troy ounces. This historic piece was just purchased at a retired executive\'s estate. He was tied to the Republican Party during the 70\'s & 80\'s and the original box and paperwork couldn\'t be found so it may have been given to him. There were 10,000 of these plates made and this one is numbered 01571. There are a few of these plates available online and replacements.com has them for available for $500 each.
