Circa 1880 to 1900's unusual amber font with gold or possibly a mercury lining 'Sheldon Swirl' kerosene lamp with an opaque very dark amethyst almost black base. Please reference Thuro book 1 page 286figure on page 287. Lamp is 8 1/4" tall to the top of the #1 brass collar, font is 4 5/8" at its widest point with a 4 5/8" base diameter. Overall excellent condition with no cracks or chips has the usual bubbles, straw marks, and base wear. Small nicks and mold roughness along the edges of the base and the edge above the paneled base. The linings worn in several areas. Buyer pays P/S/I. Insurance for up to $200 is included in the shipping price for US buyers only. Ohio buyers must pay sales tax, please wait for an invoice, or provide valid vendor's number. I will combine shipping on multiple items won.
