My late father and his wife had an inglenook fireplace with all the paraphernalia associated with one such. We still have their old chestnut roaster which is here offered should anyone be interested.
Brass/copper colour (it it brass or copper? I\'m afraid I cannot tell! Please consult illustrations) it measures approximately 20\" in total length. The round chestnut holder has a hinged lid and has perforations to allow steam to escape. It measures approximately 4 3/4\", and the handle 15 1/4\". Weight is approximately 420 grams. Has not been polished in years and has traces of metal polish inside the roasting pot, so I assume that it has only been used for decorative purposes in the past.
