For sale a characterfull Papuan Gulf (Elema?) ceremonial mask. It is made of a sort of natural fibercloth (tapa?) fixed over a woven frame. These were hung in a special section of the menshouse together with many other (some enromous) masks. It may be that originally there were also ears (?) or other parts fixed to this mask. It has the crazy long protuding mouth and with a cavitu at the back to put over the head. This may not be an ancient mask but still a nice and rare piece. Stand NOT included.

Condition;excellent, perhaps some loose fibers and loss of color here n there.Measures;H.50 x W.25 cm
