This is a simply wonderful heavy old hand hammered coin silver or better squash blossom Old Pawn Necklace. It is heavy and massive with great patina.It has 1/2 \" Hand hammered bench beads and squash blossoms strung on sturdy fox tail chain. This powerful and substantial piece was probably not made to satisfy the tourist of the day, but made to be worn by the Navajo themselves. The weight is an impressive, almost 400 grams!
I suggest, because of the weight and size better worn by a man than a woman. Being a smaller woman it is a lot to wear. It is a powerful, masculine Squash. You will not find a more impressive Squash like it on . I have never and I have searched through thosands of squash blossom necklaces. If you can find one as heavy let me know. Maybe if you take the time to go visit with the Native populations or scour the pawnshops of the Southwest you might find something equal? This is a real opportunity to purchase a very nice piece for yourself or that special man in your life. The bench beads are obviously tediously hand hammered. The bench beads being double in weight and size than is the standard for these Squash Blossom necklaces.
No sense in keeping items I do not wear.
If I were 50 years younger I might not be selling some of my Indian jewelry, but not a lot of time left, so time to cut loose with a few pieces...

The 1/2 inch bench beads, end to end, are 30 inches . The naja extends an additional 3 inches.
The necklace can easily be shortened or lengthened by shortening the foxtail chain or by restringing on a longer Foxtail chain.
