Determining the most accurate category for this listing presented a bit of a challenge. This piece has a very distinctive indigenous Navajo native squash blossom design influence with a most unique panel link chain necklace, one in which I was unable to find an equal or near match. The panel link chain, in a graduating format from its ends to the center pendant, has strong Mexican design influences as well, including the 1st half of the panel links completing the panel link chain and its\' tension clip fastener/closure mechanism. Therein lies my dilemma. There seems to be some overlap of Navajo and Mexicaninfluence in the design style/form represented here - one well executed because the presentation is clean and simple. Decided to list this amazing and exceptional piece as \"old pawn Navajo\" as the Navajo influence is much stronger than that of Mexican.A rare form of southwestern panel link chain necklace jewelry.

Two(2) distinct panel link designs complete the length of the necklace on either side of its center pendant. Beginning at either end of the piece are three(3) hollow 1-1/4\" long x 1/4\" wide peg/coffin/tubular shaped panel linksthat connect to a second(2nd) set of distinctively different panel links. Two(2) (graduating in size) panels form the 2nd distinctive set of panel links that connect to the pendant at the center of the necklace; and they are more intricately designed. Their form is that of two(2) leaves/feathers coupled to form a cave-like opening crowned with a flower blossom at their top ends, all resting on a flat panel base forming a single solid link. (have seen both leaf and feather used to describe this motif). The two 2-leaf motif panel links graduate in size from1-3/16\" x 1/2\"(LxW) up to 1-3/8\" x 11/16\"(LxW) from either side of the necklace.The larger 1-3/8\" x 11/16\" leaf motif panel link connects directly to the teardrop/pear shaped central pendant with its turquoise bezel set center stone.(Note the rectangular shape of the connecting rings for the links and the tiny ball affixed to their top sides.
