Old Persian tinned copper vase Qajar 19th century Repousse & etched- Fabulous:

This is an amazing Persian vase dating to the 19th century.It is made from copper that has been tinned. The vase is completely hand made with bold repousse shapes and intricate etching all over the surface. There are six figural medallions, the larger three depict peaceful scenes, goatherds, women pouring water, seated men reading; the smaller medallions depict hunters on horse back with scimitars. All of the scenes- as well and the decorative borders, birds and flowers are lively, fluidly drawn and of very high quality.The condition is excellent- there is hardly any wear to the tinned surface at all, this is remarkable.This is a heavy item, about 1.75 kg.
