The Kilijis the traditional saber of the Ottomans. The shorter version with curved blade and ‘T’ spine is known as Pala. This Pala has a blade of 27 inches longforged from laminated Damascus steel and with traces of silver inlay cartouche and decorations on one side.The wood scabbard is covered with leather and mounted with chased brass locket and chape.The classically shaped grips with bulbous pommel is made of horn.The leather is a late/later replacement. The grip has a crack on one side but solid and fully intact. Total length 34 1/2 inches.Very good condition.
