These excellent old knifewing, rainbowman figure earrings have beautiful, high quality, stone to stone inlay, with lovely red abalone shell, jet, and turquoise inlay into serrated sterling silver bezels with sterling silver hand made wire work for earrings, elegantly graceful wire decoration on the skirt and flattened raindrops representing the feathers down one side, the outside when worn. They are made perfectly as earrings, moving in the opposite direction in every way, the way earrings should be designed. Excellent quality in every respect and much more fine than the pictures suggest because they are magnified There\'s detailed work on these that is exceptionally fine and breathtaking in person, which cannot be conveyed in the pictures. These earrings are in excellent vintage condition without problems and with clip-on backs. As I was saying, I really want to emphasize this: the pictures magnify them so they don\'t accurately reflect the tiny details of the inlay and silver work, which is very fine and will delight you in person. Excellent quality inlay and silver work. Very special earrings.

The legendary figure in Zuni – Knifewing – was half-man, half-eagle with knife-shaped feathers, or wings. Knifewing was a warrior known as the Great One who came down from his ethereal plateau to bestow wisdom, strength and courage amongst his recipients, only revealing himself to the warriors who serve as protectors of the Pueblo.The earrings can be viewed as representing protection as well as bestowing wisdom, strength and courage.

Theyare unsigned and are unmarked for silver content which is usual for the older work, but they tested as sterling silver. They can be converted to pierced earrings with cold solder (as special laser), so the stones aren\'t harmed. They are in excellent vintage, wearable and collectible condition. The clips work perfectly; one had needed tightening and that was done.The stones are lovely and rich in color and the work on these is superb. They are excellent collector\'s items as well as stunning to wear. These are good ones!

They measure 7/8\" long, 5/8\" wide and weigh 5.7 grams. They have exquisite detail and the work is top quality. You will be thrilled when you see them in person. They are finely detailed and they are old. They\'re a delight to wear and can be a great addition to your collection.
