Offered today in this sale we are selling for a local collector who passed away and his wife asked if I would be kind enough to list these radios for her on ! He belonged to a local radio club in the area and dabbled a bit with the hobby. All of the radios I will be listing from this estate will likely need some restoration, however most do work but after checking them out cosmetically some arein need of restoring. Ioffered to resto them, however she has decided to just relinquish the lot for financial reasons! The one you see offered here todayis one of the better restored sets from this estate. Stunning very hard to find\"Original\" Olympic mid century retro clock radio from mid 50s model 405.We tested the radio and itdoes play, I Removed the rear cover and thechassis isall original intact and very clean, Has new filter caps and wax caps replaced. The set is a 5 tube radio and the sound is strong!! I bench tested this and plays with no hum or static and the audio is excellent. The clock only works intermittently. The clock switch that controls the radio ON or OFF is inop. The radio is nowcontrolledby an addedthumb-wheelswitch attached to the power cord! This radio is a stunning mid century example of retro modern and will display and play for years to come,even though the clock no longer functions properly the radio plays great.The cabinet has very few light hardly noticed brush-like scratches, gorgeous overall clean condition in and out.We will be selling these sets as found for restoration,display or play!Please use the photo enhancement feature when examining these radios for condition and we will answer any questions you may have.
