Pipesof Distinction

This unique and stunningly attractive set is the mostelegant I have ever offered. The carved amber holder is richly marbled and highly polished fitted with an intricate plated pipe cradle with a beautifully executed rope edging. The Seville pipe has a fine straight grain with a buckskin toned finish and a marbled Lucite stem that marries perfectly with the holder.

About our restoration process. Every pipe we receive is disassembled,cleaned and sanitized. We use nodetergents, chemical cleaners or petroleum products in the cleaning process.Cleaning and sanitization is accomplished by hand brushing and wiping withpotable distilled spirits. Aftercleaning all components are exposed to natural and artificial ultraviolet lightfor several days. During the cleaningand sanitization process each pipe is thoroughly examined and graded todetermine if it meets our standards. Atno point in the reconditioning is any petroleum product used in the cleaningand sanitization. Most of the stains orfinishes applied to the pipe are natural organic material such as pure organicpigments; natural oils derived from plants whose properties we deem to enhanceboth the appearance and aroma of the pipe. On rare occasion when a pipe has anexceptional depth and quality of finish we will not disturb the finish. All pipes are buffed and hand rubbed to awarm natural luster. We prefer to leavethe pipes with the natural oiled finish.The final step prior to shipping the pipe is once again thoroughlycleaned and sanitized using natural,premium consumable spirits and ultraviolet light.

All of the pipes we sell are vintage previously ownedpipes. We attempt to maintain the original patina of the pipe where possiblestriving not to overwork any pipe, therefore some scratches, dents or toothmarks may still be visible.

The pipe and the pipe smoker do not easilyfit into modern society, somewhat unique, a bit more thoughtful, contemplatingand relaxed. Whether it is the old saltat dockside contemplating past and future voyages or the busy executiverecharging with an occasional withdrawal into a calmer more relaxed place. Or at a gathering of likeminded friends toenjoy good company, a whiskey or brandy and a relaxing rich smoke. We use many things to change our perceptionof the world around us and the pipe smoker and his pipe are a link to a worldless hurried, with a bit more time to relax, dream and remember.

At Pipes of Distinction ourgoal is to supply unique pipes of individual character and to provide thesepipes to those who find value in repose to a friendlier calmer place. We do not sell new pipes. We do not sell collector pipes. We sell vintage pipes that have been previouslyowned and smoked. A “Second hand pipe”may seem strange to some but that is not what we are about. We purchase pipe collections from estates ofpipe smokers. This is how we acquire theraw material to create our unique and very distinctive pipes.
