Up for offer is a very neat March 9th 1864 dated civil war letter written from Johnson\'s Island US Prison in Sandusky Ohio by a Confederate officer being held as a Prisoner of War. The letter measures 9.75 x 7.5 inches. The letter is one full page, as the prisoner states in the letter that under present prison rules, all letters are limited to a single page. The letter was sent to Miss Florida Roberts in Lexington, Kentucky thanking her for a parcel of smoking Tobacco that she sent. The letter is signed Lieutenant James W. Newman Prisoner of War, Block 4, Room 6, Johnson\'s Island Sandusky City, Ohio. Very neat letter worthy of some research. Due to the Lexington address, may have a Morgan connection? 100% Guaranteed authentic in every regard.
