This is a rare and originalWorld War Two vintage United States Army issue map of the extreme North of Italyand bordering countries prepared under the direction of the Chief of Engineers.

It details the area of Montreux,Lausanne, Bern and Locarno. These maps were prepared to assist in the invasionof Italy where the Allied forces were involved in hard fighting from 1943 untilthe end of the war.

It is dated 1943, made by theU.S. Army map service - A.M.S. Washington D.C., prepared under the direction ofthe U.S. Army Chief of Engineers.

It is headedITALY ROAD MAP 1:200,000for use by War and NavyDepartment Agencies only - Not for sale or distribution.

There is a Glossary of terms,a Legend (or key to symbols) as well as an index at the bottom of the map whichshows the area of Italycovered in this individual map sheet.

It is in superb good clean,complete condition for its 74 years age. It has some minor signs of use and theodd area of age fading. See photos for condition report.
