For sale is an original US Army Signal Corps photo showing General Eisenhower along with the under secretary of war Patterson and LT Gen Somervell, Chief of Services of Supply. \"ETO HQ 44 11781 RESHOVSKY (2) 21 AUG
CREDIT --- SIGNAL CORPS PHOTOAT FIELD HEADQUARTERS SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE, GEN DWIGHT EISENHOWER, CENTER, WELCOMES ROBERT P. PATTERSON, UNDERSECRETARY OF WAR, AND LT GEN BREHON SOMERVELL, CHIEF OF SERVICES OF SUPPLY, WASHINGTON, RIGHT, ON A TOUR OF INSPECTION OF AMERICAN FORCES ON THE CONTINENT.\"Photo also has the Signal Corps \"Passed for Publication\" stamp with the Shaef Field Press Censor stamping. In addition, the poster has a rare stamping that states that it is not to be released until the 23rd of August, 1944.Approximate dimensions are 8x10 1/8 inches. Overall photo is in excellent condition. This photo appears to have some type of lamination applied to it. The front of the photo is very clear. The rear of the photo has some \"waving marks\" that may not have been depicted in the pictures.I have come across a large collection of Signal Corps photos. These photos depict the beaches of Normandy and the destruction and fighting in France. There are over ten photos that show Eisenhower, De Gaulle, and Churchill (Some that show them together and with other generals/commanders). In addition, I have photos of Bastille Day showing French women getting their heads shaven. Photos were purchased from an estate sale. Some of the photos show the original censorship where paratrooper\'s patches and other sensitive information have red ink blotting them out. I believe this was to show that they need to be censored in those areas before being released to the press. Photos were found with an Army name placard that states \"Heller\". Upon further research, there was a Sgt. Heller that was in the Signal Corps in France. This may be part of his collection, but I do not guarantee or promise that. All of the photos appear to have some type of lamination applied to them. I have been told that this was a common practice by the Army to do this for preservation. However, I have to way to guarantee this and am not an expert on this matter. Please do not offer if you will be unsatisfied because of the lamination. I have tried to list these the most honest way I can. If you know more about these items that I do please contact me and I will update the sales if your information is valid. I will be selling over 100 Signal Corps photos from this time period in the near future. Please check my other sales. If you have any questions/concerns please contact me and I will try to answer them as best as possible. .Thanks for looking.
