100% original Civil War 1850s-1860s US mail button from the SS & USS Arago & Fulton. RMDC back NY & Havre Steam Navigation Co markings, the name of the actual purchaser, not the retailer or maker, something I can never recall seeing. The NY & Havre Steam Navigation Co using the SS Arago and SS Fulton delivered US mail and as well served as famous passenger ships from New York to La Havre, France. These two ships were incredibly intertwined with the opening events of the Civil War and then were pressed into US service it is safe to call this a Civil War button. Button is about 20mm, gold gilted and is complete with its shank. Overall untouched and uncleaned very nice condition, see images. If buying multiple items we always combine shipping costs. Thanks.
