Nine colors of psychedelic topographic amorphous biomorphic mounds of carved wool make this rug a sight to behold.
These are super rare in such great condition. This beauty is 47 inches by 117.5 inches. In feet that is nearly 4 feet by nearly 10 feet long. This is our first ever signed and dated Edward Fields rug. This one dates from 1983. At 30 years old it is looking pretty good. The colors are both sublime and austere. There is a pop of blue, lush green, some lemon zest and lemon curd yellow, beige, ivory, coffee, merlot and salmoncolors all carved into topographic islands of colors in raptured mounds of whimsy.
This piece is so delightful and mega rare. There are no odors or obvious stains but a tiny bit of wear to two opposite corners just on the very edge-just the very tips of the tufted wool. This is not anything you would notice without a magnifier.This was a one owner piece and cost thousands back in the early 80s. It was in an unused rear hall and has very little wear. We are proud to offer it at such a reasonable price here rather than list it on 1stdibs for 8 or 9 grand.
