Authentic Mid Century Modern Harry Bertoia Knoll Bird Chair and Ottoman, steel rod frame and durable Knoll Brownfabric upholstery (possibly wool).This is a very early example I believe. The fabric does have some wear and snags. The foot rest has a small hole but isn\'t very noticeable. The foam on the inside is hard and original. I have used it in my house for a year like this and is comfortable enough to nap in.If someone can let me know it\'s age by the tag that would be great. I am not an expert.

The Bird Chair is the masterpiece of the iconic Bertoia collection first introduced in 1952. Bertoia himself described this design as mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through. Anyone who has sat in this stunning work of art recognizes that the design is a triumph in comfort as well as aesthetics.
