Most likely a World War II case, but possibly Pre-WWII* * *

Strong natural brown leather
Grid linedcelluloidmap windows inside with a green felt divider
Three snap closures on the front for a tight and secure close
Front flap button backs have what seems to be the initials \"WK\" on them
Compass pocket attached on the front with a snap closure
Back document pocket with two snap closures
Twoattachment rings for a cross body strap,unfortunatelythis is no longer with the case
Approximate measurements: Height of 9\", Width of 6-3/4 unopened, and 13-1/2\" opened

In my research, I firstfound almost an identical replica of this case, listed as a Soviet Union folder,and then found another similar looking case that was identifiedas aGermanLuftwaffe folder.

I then was able to successfully decipher the stamps (they were difficult to make out) that are located on the front underneath the flap which state:
\"B. NAJDROWSKI\" on the first line, and\"BYDGOSZCZ\" (this is a city in Poland) on the second line.
Using the information about Poland I was able to find yet another very similar case identified as Polish Army folder.
I cannot state with 100% certainty where this came from, but it seems it was probably issued to a member of the Polish Army, unless of course this crafter sold these to other military groups, or if it was taken in the Polish Invasion and used elsewhere
