ORIGINAL WW2 GERMAN ELITE SD M42 STEEL COMBAT HELMET

UNTOUCHED CONDITION hkp 64

Superb original 1942 model steel helmet, These German elite SD helmets were produced till late 1943 (SE/hkp(Sachische Emaillier u. Stanswerke, Lauter)

(and yes these were produced after order to cease issuing helmets with decals)

Original liner and rivets, never removed from helmet,

SD is about 30%

Helmet is heavily pitted, in my opinion it was excavated,

Outside was cleaned and some oil like substance was applied to preserve what is left of the original dark-grey factory paint,

Inside dome was not cleaned or oiled,

leather is dry but complete.

Chin strap is missing,
