this is a famous photo taken whileon the hikingtrip to the summit of Everest for the first time. Tenzing had copies of the photo made and would sign them for touristsat laterdates. My grandparents met him in Darjeeling in the mid-late 50\'s or early 60\'s where he would sell autographs (although mygrandmother does not remember paying him, she has passed away so I am unable to pin down when they were there). My grandparents lived in India from 1953-1959, so most likely this trip was during that time. She remembers he was a happy man surrounded by many dogs.

The photo is approx. 5.5\" x 3.5\"

and is in good condition

the ink is blue (see the photo, you can tell the ink is beginning to oxidize?)

it is on original photo paper,Agfa-Brovira paper
