This is an ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING of this poster by an Anonymous artist. Printed ca. 1942, it was created to discourage people from talking about anything during the war. Reinterpreted and recycled by numerous artists throughout World War II, the image of a sailor desperately reaching toward the viewer while a ship sinks in the background never failed to be powerful, always emphasizing that the smallest slip-up can result in disaster. It is in B condition (slight tears & creases) and measures 12 3/4 x 19 3/8 inches. It has been laid on linen for preservation.
