ATTENTION COLLECTORS!!!
You do not want to miss out on this ORIGINAL,ONE OF A KINDand SUPER RARED-day letter grouping named to a Canadian soldier with the 19th Canadian Army Field Regiment RCA (Royal Canadian Artillery). I have bought and sold a good many of these D-day letters in my years of collecting, but this is BY FAR the most incredible grouping that I have ever had the chance to offer. The grouping is named to a W.F. Donaldson and comes straight out of the woodwork from the U.K. as found in a suitcase during an attic clean-out. It has not been altered in any way and nothing has been added or subtracted. There are so many \"put together\" groupings out there these days, but you have my integrity in saying that this grouping has been together since World War 2 without being altered. I am told by the man that I obtained the grouping from that Mr. Donaldson made the invasion of Juno beach on D-day as a gunner with the 19th Canadian Army Field Regiment (Royal Canadian Artillery). Donaldson does show up on the roster at the end of May 1944 which would serve to correlate that he made the invasion with the regiment approximately a week later. These D-day letters are some of the most SOUGHT AFTERpieces of for World War 2 collectors, and they are becoming HARDER AND HARDERto find. A NAMEDexample INCLUDING DOG TAGSis SIGNIFICANTLY more rare and nearly impossible to find. This truly could be a once-in-a-lifetime grouping.
I am not simply trying to talk up this listing. It is one of the best that I have ever seen. The D-day letter is in GREAT condition for its age showing only minor wear and age-related color changes and wrinkling in spots. There is a small approximately 1/2 inch tear on the left side of the lower fold line from the wear of being creased for 71 years but this does not detract from rarity or value. All corners are intact and show only minor wear. There is a bit of splotchy light-red tinged hue in a few spots on the back of the letter, but there again, this does not detract from rarity or value. One of the most incredible parts of this letter is that on the back is a HAND WRITTEN date of June 6th, 1944 in BEAUTIFULblue ink! I can attest to this being period ink based on the color of ink aging with the paper. This is an incredible added bonus to an already incredible letter. It is very possible that Mr. Donaldson penned this date on the back of this letter as it was handed to him shortly before the \"Big Show\" began as the invasion of Normandy. This is the same letter that was handed out to all allied Airmen, Seaman, and Soldiers prior to the D-day invasion and it is a heartfelt message from the commander of the Allied Forces, General Eisenhower. This is the same letter that the men of the Band of Brothers carried into battle with them as they jumped behind enemy lines in the early morning hours of June 6, 1944. Many of these letters that I have sold in the past have developed small pinholes in the paper through the years but I am ecstatic to announce that this letter has NO HOLES! It is truly in incredible condition for its age and would look incredible in a frame or displayed in a shadow box with the other items being offered in this listing.
But wait, there\'s more! In addition to this incredible letter, you also get W.F. Donaldson\'s DOG TAGS! If in fact Mr. Donaldson did storm Juno Beach on June 6, 1944, these are the tags that would have been around his neck...Think of that for a minute. You have the chance to own a set of dog tags that more than likely made the invasion of Juno Beach on D-day in 1944. Who else can say that they have that?I am not an expert in WW2 Canadian dog tags, but they appear correct with a wartime cord attaching them together and providing the lanyard for neck wear.In addition to the dog tags, you will also receive the various pins, patch, and green wallet pictured in the photos. Additionally, you will also receive Mr. Donaldson\'s RIBBON BARwhich is a beautiful ENGLISH MADEexample, complete with maple leaf attachment. I am not familiar with the black patch that comes with this listing, but hopefully someone else in the collecting community will know. The patch has a white gauze-type or linen background. It should be noted that the green wallet and black patch do have a musty odor from years of storage in a suitcase in the attic of a home in the U.K. Overall, this is THE BESTD-day grouping that I have ever had theprivilege of offering. YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER GROUPING LIKE THIS ONE.
As I mentioned, I have bought and sold a good many of these letters in the past, and thus I can say with 100% certainty that this D-day letter is 100% authentic. I have a 100% positive response rating and strive for nothing but openness and honesty in order to provide only the highest level of satisfaction to my customers. As you can see in the photos, the letter has the correct micro-dot printed SHAEF logo that is required of an original example and is printed on correct, wartime paper that has aged VERY gracefully over the years. The letter measures approximately 6 and 1/16th inches wide by 9 and 1/16th inches tall. This is not a reproduction or cheap photocopy of an original example. The small pendant that comes with the listing appears to be a boxing pendant of some kind and on the reverse shows the initials \"W.F.D\" and a date of 1921-22. The small silver-toned pin says \"general service\" and I believe the \"Normandie\" was a troop carrying ship if I\'m not mistaken. I believe the \"Ubique\" gold-tone pin (with proper hair pin-type attachment) is of the Canadian Artillery (I am not an expert in Canadian medals and insignia so please forgive my lack of knowledge). As I\'ve said many times before, this is a ONE-OF-A-KINDgrouping. Please review all photos and ask questions prior to offerding. I would be happy to provide more photos upon request. This listing is being offered at a starting price of $0.99 with and will sell to the highest buyer.DON\'T LET THIS GROUPING GET AWAY, ADD IT TO YOUR COLLECTION TODAY!

Sorry, but I can\'t accept returns based on buyer\'s remorse. As always, buyer is to determine correct period and authenticity prior to offerding. As I mentioned, while it is highly likely that Mr. Donaldson invaded Juno Beach on the morning of June 6, 1944, I cannot guarantee the fact that he did because I have not been able to find a roster of the regiment on D-day morning. I have, however, found records showing Mr. Donaldson on the roster at the end of May 1944 just before the D-day invasions. It is logical that Mr. Donaldson went on to make the invasion just more than a week later. Per my contact in the U.K., from whom I obtained this grouping, Mr. Donaldson did in fact participate in the D-day invasion of Juno Beach 71 years ago this year. I strive for openness and honesty in all that I do and I am more than happy to answer questions that you have, and strive to satisfy you 100% in our dealings together.
