This ornateEnglish silverset has a nice collection ofsterling tools set in a fitted velvet & silkinterior.The silver tools include a stiletto, scissors, a crochet hook, apenknife, abodkin and a thimble. Theyareembossed withscrollingfloral designs. The top has 2 packets of needles and a velvet needlebook. The toolsall have the maker\'s mark for Levi & Salaman and thesterlinghallmarks for Birmingham 1894.The thimble is also marked Birmingham 1894 and was made by JamesFenton. Levi & Salaman didn\'t make thimbles so they bought themfrom makers like Fenton. Ithink everythingin the set is original.

The conditionof all of the tools is excellent with nodents or other damage. Thescissors are 3 1/2\" long. They have sharp, intactpoints and cut beautifully to the tips. Allof the steel is shiny and bright with the original polished surfaces.Thethimble has no holes or other damage and isabout an American size 8 (15 mm diameter opening).

Thefitted wooden case is covered with leather and has itsoriginal linings. The top has a sterling silver cartouche engraved \"E N 1895\".The condition is excellent inside and outand itcloses securely with a push button latch. Itmeasures 5 3/8\" by 3 1/8\". This would be a great set to actuallyuse.
