Oshe Shango Carving

This is an amazing carving of an Oshe shango/Oshe Sango.Shango was - and in some parts of Africa and the West Indies is still viewed as the god of thunder. It was/is

believed that he had magical powers and could control thunder. Around the seventieth century, Shango was the fourth king of the Yoruba people, the Oyo state.

The Oshe Sango is a very important ritual object favoured by devotees of Shango.
