This is an early-mid 19th Century Ottoman bronze ammo/cartridge box
to store firing caps to ignite the power filled in guns.
By means of retainer (see pict 6) it can be carried on belt/band.
Due to the floral designs insiced all over the box except back side
it may be accepted that it is used in the Balkans in ottoman era.The lid works well and the box is in very good condition for its age with some wearof use.
