Script monogram \"AVG\" This sale is for a most exquisite pair of 1800\'s hand embroidered French linen pillowcases. These old trousseau items were typically hand embroidered by not only the bride to be, but her mother and grandmother. The fine needlework on these particular cases is exceptionally tiny, so I suspect a young pair of eyes. The monogram is centrally located in a double wreath of padded French dots and flowers. The monogram is beautifully done in script and reads in line AWV with the W centered and slightly larger being the first initial of the brides future last name. The monogram it\'s self measures 2.5 by 1.5 inches and sits within the wreath measuring a large 6 by 4.72 inches. The pillow case edges are embroidered in a matching French dot and floral pattern. This width measures 3.75 inches wide and is found on the pillow front with a trail of single French dots around the entire case. Each gorgeous old linen pillowcase measures 22 inches wide by 36.5 inches long. Lovely 19th century handiwork at it\'s finest. Each case is in excellent condition, barely used. They do need to be laundered as they have been stored for well over a hundred years thus they suffer from age yellowing. Any linen dealer will tell you these will bleach and launder beautifully~!
