ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND QUITE UNIQUE PAIR! TThiss offering features a pair of Victorian era , rectangular tables. Handcrafted of bentwood cane with wonderful details. The aprons are graduated with 4 long cane pieces accomplishing this design. The legs are substantial in circumference. The front profiles have an arched cane accent just below the apron. The legs are wrapped/bound together. The tops of the tables are quite lovely. The are a single sheet of steel with a hammered or repousse pattern of acanthus leaves and scrolls. THE TOPS ARE ORIGINAL as they are fixed under sections/pieces of cane. The cane pieces are tacked.down with small, original nails. The cane is somewhat unusual in color. It ranges from black to brown with some areas of russet red. The steel tops (they are magnetic) have an ochre or mustard color in the recessed areas with a darker, umber brown color on the raised sections. As is the norm for bentwood furniture, the tables are lightweight. They are sturdy and in good, antique condition with some minor evidence of age and use.
