Good Luck!!!Lovely antique pair of French bisque (hard paste porcelain)
covered tureens for serving Game (bird)Produced by La Seinie (Haute Vienne)
Prestigious French company was established
in 1774 by the Marquis de Beaupoil de St Aulaire,
the Chevalier Dugareau and the
Comte de la Seinie.Tureens have a delicate mauve/pink color to the body
with gilded rims & figural Earthworm Handles -
(the gilt is worn in areas)
The lids have exceptional applied Figural
Bird Grouping -
Mother bird is perched on a stump feeding
a baby bird, while another baby bird
appears to be scrambling around .
The front of the tureens is decorated with
white relief twining grape vines & leaves.There are a few condition issues as a result of
over two hundred years of usage -
One lid has an internal hairline (pic #6)
Rim of one tureen is rough around the edges (pic #7)
One baby bird has a tiny chip off it\'s beak (pic #8)
After this many years of usage one could consider
these tureens to be in very good condition.Measurements are:
