A FRENCH PASTORAL COURTING SCENE (DECAL)

and

LOVELY CRANBERRY GLAZE (HAND PAINTED) WITH GOLD* TRIM

* I do not know whether the trim is actual metallic gold.

Age? ... The lamps are unsigned and undated. I believe they are mid-century.

Features:

- Lamps are unsigned

- Vintage/Antique Brass Base

- Hole in porcelain at base of lamp body, so you could remove the brass base, if desired, and run wire through hole.

- ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT ...

- Electric fixtures, cord, and harps are ALL NEW: rewired for modern 3-way light bulbs

Size (approximate):

- 15-1/2\" to top of lamp body

- 19\" to top of light-bulb socket

- 27\" to top of harp finial

(Removing brass base would make the lamp 1.5\" shorter.)

- Lamp body is about 5-1/4\" diameter at widest point.

Q: Is anything else included with this sale?

A: Only what appears in the photos is included. (Note: Bulbs and shades NOT included)

Condition Details:

- Beautiful vintage condition - bright hand-painted cranberry and white.

- Electric components have been rewired (not original). All working - with 3-way bulbs (not included).

- There is a small ding in one lamp\'s brass base. This is easily repairable, since the base can be removed from the lamp (one nut) and the dented spot is accessible.

- Speaking of the brass bases, they have not recently been polished, so there is some vintage patina ... if you\'re looking for that as a feature.

- PLEASE NOTE: I am not an expert with this style of lamp artwork. First, I see some attrition (rub-off) of the gold leaf, revealing white underneath. But interestingly enough, it\'s limited to the side handles -- not anywhere else on the lamp. So my opinion is that this attrition was done intentionally, for effect ...not by careless cleaning. Likewise, there is some attrition of the cranberry hand paint/glaze work, but again ... it\'s only along the top rim of the lamps, and evenly matched on both. The cranberry paint/glaze everywhere else is fine. So I believe, once again, this was done intentionally by the artist to give the lamps a \"highlighted\" effect. See final photo and judge for yourself.
